We just got back from a fantastic Easter weekend in the Lakes. I managed to wangle a couple of extra days by claiming that I had things to do….
I took the chance to go up to Dubbs with Suki again. As you can see thay have worked hard at repairing the damage done to the paths by last year’s severe Winter storms.
The hills at the end of the valley were still frosted with snow and made a fantastic backdrop to the first section of the walk.
Up at the reservoir itself it was evident that a lot of work had been going on, but it’s not exactly a visitor centre yet. On a sunny day with nobody around that hardly mattered though.
On the way down we went along the road and enjoyed the view over the Langdales to the West.
Returning by Jesus Church in Troutbeck the daffodils were very nearly at their best – another few days will see a fantastic display.
The Easter lambs and the daffodils togetehr give you such a sense of uplift after the long Winter.
The Lakes are still beautiful in every season, but I think Spring has to be my favourite season (well until the Summer starts that is)
