Yesterday we took advantage of the fantastic weather and walked up from the lodge to the front of Wansfell Pike. from there we sauntered through Skelghyll Wood marvelling at the swathes of bluebells as we went. Calico Trike Tours Here he is driving past Kingfisher Lodge. He’s offering a discount to our guests – it looks like a fun way to do the sights and you’d certainly get a bit of attention as you cruise through Ambleside [...] We do warn people to be careful with following sat-nav directions from Ings to our lodge, as you tend to get directed over a narrow but busy lane which exits onto the blind brow of a hill that boy racers on motorbikes and in cars like to drive over at 60 MPH or more [...] It seems to have rained all year so far! One thing I do notice though is that you get a lot of beautiful views as a result up here. The rain actually suits the landscape if that makes any sense.
