Recently we’ve all been a bit pre-occupied with getting the new Lodge, Troutbeck View, up and running, so it was good to get out even though it was a bit overcast. The hedgerows seem to have erupted since I was [...] Ok , so it’s not exactly the White Nile, but an expedition to see where the beck begins its journey had been on my list of walks to to do for some time now. I set of on Thursday morning bright and early armed with a rucksack full of wet/cold weather clothes, map, compass [...] I’ve had an outstanding task for a few months now since I told www.walkingworld.com that I’d add a circular walk up from Troutbeck up to Orrest Head. This is a lovely gentle walk up tothe top of one of the lowest fells in the Lakes. At only just over 750 feet it hardly qualifies [...] We just got back from a fantastic Easter weekend in the Lakes. I managed to wangle a couple of extra days by claiming that I had things to do…. I took the chance to go up to Dubbs with Suki again.
