As recommended by the  Divine St Julia (Bradbury)  we parked in Keswick and took the boat across Derwentwater, which gave us a great view of the fell before we started.

We climbed up the zig-zag path whilst the kids just about [...]]]> Earlier this week we went to Keswick for a group assault on Catbells.

As recommended by the  Divine St Julia (Bradbury)  we parked in Keswick and took the boat across Derwentwater, which gave us a great view of the fell before we started.

We climbed up the zig-zag path whilst the kids just about ran up. When we got to the top it was a bit of a toss up as to whether there were more people or horse flies. This certainly must be one of the busiest fells in the Lakes. The views are amazing though.

Having shared a sandwich with a few dozen horse flies we started the descent down the other side and joined the queue down the path. It was a bit like an airport check-in by the time we got half way down as it had started to drizzle and everyone was trying to get down at the same time.
