Well it’s not the wild west in ’49, but prospectors have found gold in Troutbeck! Before you all rush to book with dreams of coming on holiday and finding enough gold to fund a lodge at Limefitt Park I should probably point out that the amounts are minuscule. A GROWING band of prospectors are [...] Yesterday we took advantage of the fantastic weather and walked up from the lodge to the front of Wansfell Pike. from there we sauntered through Skelghyll Wood marvelling at the swathes of bluebells as we went. Like most owners of self-catering properties I struggle with some fundamental questions on a depressingly regular basis. For a change we sat in the restaurant rather than the bar and we enjoyed this view from the table.

Recently we’ve all been a bit pre-occupied with getting the new Lodge, Troutbeck View, up and running, so it was good to get out even though it was a bit overcast. The hedgerows seem to have erupted since I was [...] So yesterday it was hotter in the Lake District than it was in Corfu. We woke this morning to another gorgeous day. We invested £8.99 in a work light from Homebase last week. We clipped it to the rail on the decking, fired it up and spread out the peanut butter sandwiches.
