Sometimes you have to be in awe of the beauty of the Lake District and the weather rings such changes that there is alwasy something to marvel at. A blustery Autumn day with sunshine and a rainbow – what more could you want! If it gets too windy for you you can always retreat [...] I took Suki round Ing Bridge yesterday for the first time for a while. Recently we’ve all been a bit pre-occupied with getting the new Lodge, Troutbeck View, up and running, so it was good to get out even though it was a bit overcast. The hedgerows seem to have erupted since I was [...] So yesterday it was hotter in the Lake District than it was in Corfu. We woke this morning to another gorgeous day. Dappled sunlight coming in through the blinds and birds twittering outside. Limefitt Park – Troutbeck Lodges We had breakfast on the deck and saw a deer saunter by.
Well it may have been a bit of a wet weekend but when journalist Nick Peet and his fiancée Sally brought Lola their bulldog and their designer wellies fresh from Creamfields to Kingfisher Lodge they had what Nick described as “the perfect end to the summer” Entering into the true spirit of the Lakes [...] The weather has been a bit mixed this week but even in the rain this place is magnificent as you can see from these pictures!
A Troutbeck sky A storm over Limefitt Park The sky brightens up over Limefitt Park [...] It’s been a bit mixed weather-wise this week, and as I type this I am looking out at a mizzle of rain drifting across the Troutbeck valley. It’s still lovely though:-) We’ve had Troutbeck in cloud and we’ve had Troutbeck – Just 1 cloud Fortunately the weather was lovely on Bank Holiday [...] Well I’ve just returned from a glorious week at Limefitt Park. Fantastic April weather! The scenery is magical when the sun shines Dubbs Reservoir Walk near Limefitt Park This glade is on the Dubbs Reservoir circular walk that can be done straight from your lodge door. Another walk we did was on Easter [...] On yesterday’s walk we went through Troutbeck and took this picture of Jesus Church in the frost. Jesus Church Troutbeck – New Year 2009 Yes, it was quite cold A bit later on we saw Windermere, clearly frozen in the distance Windermere frozen on a Winter afternoon [...] New Year’s Eve was bitterly cold and when we woke up this morning the park was covered in hoar frost. Hoar Frost on a silver birch tree It was so cold that part of Trout Beck had started to freeze! What a day for a New Year walk!
