So today South Lakeland Parks hosted an inter-park golf competition. Windermere golf club has to be one of the most beautiful golf courses in the country. The view of the Langdales even on a hazy and humid day like today is worth the green fee!

So yesterday it was hotter in the Lake District than it was in Corfu. We woke this morning to another gorgeous day. Dappled sunlight coming in through the blinds and birds twittering outside.

We’ve just heard that the Lake District Pony Trekking centre is going to reopen at the end of this month!

However, at the back end of last season a new couple [...]
Many years ago I read a science fiction story by Robert Heinlein called “The Door into Summer”. I was reminded of this today when I came across this gate which looked up at the perfect blue sky that made walking today such a perfect Lake District experience.

They seem to have got the forecast the wrong way round today – The sun was breaking through an hour ago, and we were treated to this lovely sunset.
