Today at 2 pm they are going to be flying hawks here at Limefitt Park in Troutbeck You can see some of these beauties. Falconry at Limefitt Park Midnight

Recently we’ve all been a bit pre-occupied with getting the new Lodge, Troutbeck View, up and running, so it was good to get out even though it was a bit overcast. The hedgerows seem to have erupted since I was [...] So yesterday it was hotter in the Lake District than it was in Corfu. We woke this morning to another gorgeous day. Dappled sunlight coming in through the blinds and birds twittering outside. Limefitt Park – Troutbeck Lodges We had breakfast on the deck and saw a deer saunter by.
We invested £8.99 in a work light from Homebase last week. We clipped it to the rail on the decking, fired it up and spread out the peanut butter sandwiches. The Badger Light It only took a few minutes before we saw our first badgers and we were able to see them [...] Over the time I’ve been coming to the Lakes seeing a buzzard soaring overhead has gone from being a rare treat to something more commonplace. Having said that, seeing one stalling on a thermal overhead is still a magical thing. Today, at the end of my walk as I approached Limefitt Park I saw [...] This mother sheep and lamb can currently be seen wandering around Limefitt Park in Troutbeck. They are escapees from the fellside I think. This you tube video is taken from our deck. I promise that we were not barbecuing lamb chops at the time! [...] One of the highlights of The Lakes for nature lovers is the annual return of the Bassenthwaite Ospreys. As well as going to see the nest, just North of Keswick, now you can now follow them on the internet! // Get the Lake District Osprey Project widget and many other great free widgets at [...] I took Suki for a walk through the mizzle this afternoon. As we were walking down past Troutbeck Church I heard a frantic screeching coming from the copse over the road and saw what looked like a buzzrd flying down to the beck. We crossed over in time to see a woodpecker escape from [...] On Wednesday I took some time out from the day job and headed up to Troutbeck to kit out the new lodge that we are bringing on stream in October – Otter Lodge. Having created my own mini-ecological disaster with a heap of totally unnecessary packaging that Tesco should be truly ashamed by, I [...] Last night, inspired by Spring Watch, we decided to set up our own hide with state of the art lighting and video recording equipment. So we opened the bedroom window and stuck our lounge floor lamp by it (no infra red heat seeking gear here I’m afraid), angled the reading light part out of [...] |
