Sedbergh Festival of Books & Drama Friday 18 – Sunday 27 September Old Laundry Theatre Programme September – November CAMRA Beer Festival, Kendal Town Hall 14 – 17 October Kendal Festival of Food Saturday 24 [...] On Sunday we took the kids down to The Low Wood watersports centre and had a couple of hours learning to wakeboard. Joe, our instructor was great and very patient and we all got up out of the water. It was a lot of fun but quite tiring. The airshow will be held on July 25th and 26th at The Glebe, Bowness, Windermere

1. Go for a walk The Lakes is heaven on earth for ramblers – look at one of the free routes on our website and treat yourself to a healthy and free slice of rest and relaxation 2. Go for a bike ride Whether its on the winding lanes, the bridle paths or the exciting trails at Grizedale [...] We came across this mountain bike ride route that passes Limefitt Park on the “Singletrack World” site today. The easy route shown doesn’t actually pass Limefitt Park. The other two do. The medium route I might manage, but the hard one I’ll leave for those who are a bit younger and fitter ! (I imagine that the [...] In a field behind Limefitt Park there are the remains of an old ski lift. In the 60’s and 70’s people used to grass ski there. With global warming and the parlous state of the pound against the Euro maybe there is a HUGE opportunity here for South Lakeland Parks to invest a couple of hundred squid [...] Yes it’s now official! The Lake District won this year’s British Travel Awards prize for “best holiday destination in the UK”
